Riley are a talented four piece guitar band hailing from the Black Country. Their sound combines singer/song writer Dave Robertson’s roots in Liverpudlian indie with the popular West Midlands sound that is currently emerging. This gives them a very unique style that backs up strong, commanding lyrics with an exciting new variation on traditional indie music.

After forming in July 2001, Riley have worked hard to achieve the acclaim that they are starting to receive. They are excited and passionate about playing live and this is reflected through their exhilarating performances. There is no doubt that is what has led to the success that they have had in 2003. They were voted as Band of 2003 by the Midlands biggest radio station, Heart FM and again by critically acclaimed Ryan’s Gig Guide and The Fly. Their demo was chosen as BBC Merseyside’s Demo of the Week and they are regulars on the BBC Raw Talent Show. They have also made a number of high profile appearances including an outing to the Birmingham Arts Festival, headlining the Mi5/UKSounds showcase at Manchester’s In The City festival, a slot on Carlton TV’s Exposure show and even a cameo role in an independent film.

After their success in the UK, Riley recently spent a five day stint in Upstate New York to play a concert at Sopranos star James Gandolfini’s Vines restaurant for the Banjo Radio Group. This led to a variety of radio interviews and acoustic performances, all of which were very well received and have been asked back for a 12 date tour of Upstate New York in December.

Riley’s continued success at home and abroad has lead to high expectations of their forthcoming debut album and EP, which has been produced by Paul Walton, who has previously worked with the likes of Madonna, U2, New Order and No Doubt.
